FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you call. Still have questions? We're available 24/7.

How do I know if my tire can be repaired or needs to be replaced?

Generally a tire can be repaired if the puncture is smaller than 6mm in diameter and located in the central tread area. Damage to the sidewall, shoulder, or multiple punctures usually means the tire needs to be replaced. Our technician will assess the damage on arrival and give you an honest recommendation.

The most common causes of tire punctures are nails, screws, sharp debris on the road, and potholes. Even a small nail can cause a slow leak that gradually deflates your tire over time without you noticing until it’s too late.

We strongly advise against driving on a punctured or damaged tire. It can cause further damage to the tire, rim and suspension – and in some cases lead to a dangerous blowout. Call us instead and we’ll come to you.

Most tire repairs are completed in 20-30 minutes once our technician arrives at your location. If a replacement is needed it may take slightly longer depending on the tire size and availability.

What if the damage is on the sidewall of the tire?

Sidewall damage cannot be safely repaired and the tire will need to be replaced. Our technicians carry replacement tires for most vehicle makes and models so we can handle the replacement on the spot without towing.

Run-flat tires have specific repair limitations set by the manufacturer. In most cases a damaged run-flat tire needs to be replaced rather than repaired. Call us with your tire details and we will advise on the best solution.
